
Cuzco is Peru’s main tourist destination and one of the most important destinations in the Americas. Known by the Incas as the “Home of the Gods,” Cuzco became the capital of one of the largest pre-Columbian empires: the Tawantinsuyo. Its name in Quechua means “ Navel of the World”.
Itinerary
Day 01 Cusco
Transfer to the airport and depart for Cuzco. Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Group city tour of Cusco. Guided visit to the Cathedral, The Inca Temple of Koricancha and the nearby ruins of: Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo , Puca Pucara, the Red Fortress, and Tambomachay. Overnight in Cusco
Day 02 Machu Picchu
Pick up at the hotel and transfer to the train station. Train from Cusco to Aguas Calientes.
The citadel of Machu Picchu is the most important tourist attraction of Cusco. Today, we will take a group tour of Machu Picchu. Rediscovered in 1911 by the American explorer Hiram Bingham, this citadel is considered to be one of the most extraordinary examples of landscape architecture in the world. The citadel is situated over 2,300 meters above sea level in the province of Urubamba on a remote mountain top. From the ruins, there is a magnificent view of the deep gorge of the Urubamba River, surrounded by the steep mountain sides covered in tropical jungle. After visiting Machu Picchu you can enjoy your lunch in Aguas Calientes.
Train will from Aguas Calientes to Cusco. Transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Cusco
Day 03
Pick up at your hotel and transfer to the airport
