-Day 01
After breakfast, we will depart for the Pantanal, the first part of the route on a paved road (until we reach the small village of Poconé). From there we will continue along the Transpantaneira, a dirt-road crossing right thought the Pantanal. On this road their are ample opportunities to observe the rich wildlife of the region; caimans are literally sun bathing along the side of the road.
Transfer to the Pousada takes approximately 3 hours.
Upon arrival at the lodge where we will spend the night, lunch will be served. After lunch we will start a reconnaissance tour of the surroundings, exploring the nearby waterways by a motorized canoe. Diner in the lodge, followed by a night-time alligator-spotting tour, observing these powerful reptiles with high power spotlights.
Overnight in the Pousada Piuval or Rio Claro.

Day 02
After breakfast, we’ll hike on an ecological trek through surrounding areas, with the opportunity to observe the local fauna and flora. Return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, we will take a boat trip with the opportunity to fish for the notorious "Piranha." Return to the lodge for diner, depending on your catch diner may be complimented by some delicious Piranha Soup.
Overnight in the Pousada Piuval or Rio Claro.
-Day 03
After breakfast, we’ll go out for a morning trip, having our last opportunity for photo’s of the local wildlife. Lunch at the Pousada, after lunch return to the city of Cuiabá or the Cuiabá airport. |
