An 8-day adventure program of trekking that will take you around the Torres del Paine range. This excursion it is made more comfortable by the support of mountain shelters and camp sites with tent services and mountain porters. You can enjoy all the magnificent landscapes along the way while carrying only personal gear in your backpack (14 kg). This circuit it is rated "hard," as physically demanding, or for trained people. This program operates from november to march (with reservations). |
-Day 01
Arrival at Punta Arenas. Transfer by standard bus to Puerto Natales (3.5 hrs.) (private bus optional with visit to a Penguin Colony). Reception at terminal and transfer to hotel. Program check-in and equipment check-out. Lodging at hotel.
-Day 02
Breakfast 8:00. Depart by private bus to Torres del Paine National Park. Arriving to Refugio Las Torres (11:00 am), we leave our gear and begin the trek up to the base of Paine's Towers via Asencio River (7 hours r/t). Box lunch during the excursion. Return to Refugio (19:00 pm). Dinner and lodging at Refugio Las Torres.
-Day 03
Breakfast 8:00. We load our gear onto 4x4 vehicle and go to Refugio Lago Paine, following an old "estancia" trail that makes this trip an off-road adventure on the north bank of Paine River, were woods and lagoons enlighten the trip. Arrive at Paine Lake (11:00), box lunch before we start walking towards Refugio Dickson (3 hours). Dinner and lodging at Refugio Dickson.
-Day 04
Breakfast 8:00. Today we pack our gear in our backpacks and hike up along Los Perros River, through native forest and moreins to the Los Perros campsite. Then we continue to the Los Perros Lagoon and Glacier (5 hours). Dinner service at the store and lodging in tents.
-Day 05
Breakfast 8:00. We ascend further through wetlands and along rocky mountain slopes until we reach the highest point of the circuit, John Garner Pass (1,300 mts) where we'll have a great view of the Patagonian ice cap. Box lunch. The return trip follows the edge of Glacier Grey and passes through forests, crosses gorges and streams, before reaching Refugio Lago Grey, located at a lake at the front of Glaciar Grey (10 hrs). Dinner and lodging at Refugio Grey.
-Day 06
Breakfast 8:30. Morning excursion to the front of the glacier, to watch the seracs falling into the water. Lunch at refugio. Afternoon walk to the Lake Pehoe Refugio (3 hrs.), with the support of pack horses. The trail goes around the Mt. Paine Grande foothills, edging Lake Grey and crossing over to arrive at Lake Pehoe. |
