Setting sail from Puerto Montt, the ferry will go towards the south, passing through Puerto Chacabuco, a neuralgic point in the Austral highway, important and the only way to connect the land at Puerto Montt with the south. Located at the foot of the Northern Ice Fields, the San Rafael Lagoon has as a backdrop the great glacier wall that takes its name: the San Rafael Glacier.
