| Itinerary: |
-Day 01 Lima
Airport transfer. Lima is known as the “City of the Kings”. Overnight
-Day 02 Lima-Arequipa
Transfer to the airport. Flight from Lima to Arequipa. Transfer to the hotel. Arequipa is known as the "white city." Overnight
-Day 03 Colca Canyon Trek
Pick up at your hotel at 7.00 AM in the morning. A private bus will take you through the area of Yura, where you can observe the Chachani volcano. Then it's on to the “Pampa de Arrieros” and “Pampa de Cañahuas,” where you can observe “vicuñas” and appreciate the volcanic formations along the way. After aproximately 3.5 hours driving, we pass the highest point of the journey
(4800 m above sea level), arriving in Chivay at around 10:30 AM. After a short break we continue to Cabanaconde. We arrive in Cabanaconde at around 1 o´clock and have lunch (included) there. After lunch the trekking starts from Cabanaconde to San Juan de Chucho, a trek of 3 to 4 hours. In San Juan you´ll have dinner (included). Your accomodation is basic but comfortable. There´s a pool and you have an excelent view.
-Day 04 Colca Canyon Trek
Breakfast is served at 7.00 AM. (Included). At around 7.30 AM we begin the walk from San Juan de Chucho to the villages of Cosñirhua and Malata, traditional villages dedicated to fruit agriculture, passing by the ampitheatre and Lloque terraces. Stop for lunch along the way. (lunch included). After 5 or 6 hours walking we arrive at the Oasis or Sangalle. Here you can rest and spend your free time in the natural thermal water pool, enjoying the beautiful surroundings. Oasis is also your night accomodation, basic but comfortable. Have dinner here (included) and a good night sleep.
-Day 05 Return to Arequipa
You wake up early at 4.00 AM in the morning to start walking at around 4.30 AM, before the sun rises, because it is a challenging hike up. You´ll arrive in Cabanaconde at around 8.00 AM where you can shower in a hotel and enjoy a good breakfast (included). Afterwards, we drive to Chivay, where you can walk around, have your lunch (not included) before returning to Arequipa around 7.00 PM.
-Day 06 Arequipa –Cusco
Transfer to the airport. Flight to Cusco. Transfer to the hotel. Cusco is Peru’s main tourist destination and one of the most important in the Americas. Overnight
-Day 07 Cusco - Sacred Valley
Sacred Valley tour. Just an hour’s drive from Cusco, the Urubamba Valley, or Sacred Valley of the Incas, is a setting of picturesque communities, impressive terraces and many important archaeological sites. The valley includes the area between the Inca communities of Pisac and Ollantaytambo. You will spend the night in Yucay . Overnight
-Day 08 Cusco-Piskacucho-Yuncachimpa
Early in the morning ( 4:30 -5:00 ) we will pick you up at your hotel by bus and transfer you to Piscacucho in Chilca. We will pass through Urubamba where we have a brief stop, then to Chillca to start the trekking. Along the way we will visit the archaeological site called Llactapata.
-Day 09 Yuncachimpa- Warmiwañusco –Runturacay
We will have breakfast early and start trekking to the highest point of the Inka Trail, where we can see different ecological zones and enjoy changing climates. We will cross the Warmiwañusca pass at 4200 meters above sea level. After lunch we will continue on to the campsite at Pacaymayo and enjoy dinner and a well deserved rest.
-Day 10 Runcuracay –Chaq´Icocha – Wiñaywayna
We will walk approximately 45 minutes up to reach the second pass at 3850 meters (12,630 ft) above sea level, and will visit Runcuracay along the way. We will also visit the Sayacmarca archaeological group and then go to the Phuyupatamarca ruins. Overnight in Aguas Calientes. |
