| Itinerary: |
-Day 01 Lima
Airport transfer. Lima is known as the “City of the Kings”.Overnight
-Day 02 Lima
City tour. Visit the most important colonial buildings: the Cathedral, Palace de Gobierno, and the Church and Convent of Saint Francis. Gold Museum Tour. A priceless collection of pre-Columbian gold artifacts is housed in this excellent museum. Overnight
-Day 03 Lima-Arequipa
Transfer to the airport. Flight to Arequipa in the morning. Transfer to the hotel. Arequipa is known as the “white city." Private City Tour. You will visit the Cathedral and the Santa Catalina Monastery. Overnight
-Day 04 Arequipa
Colca Canyon Tour. It is an expedition by minibus or land rover to the deepest canyon in the world (11,220 ft). Overnight
-Day 05 Arequipa – Colca Canyon
Continue to Yaque, flanked by seemingly inaccessible agricultural terraces, to Cruz del Condor. This spot overlooks the most spectacular precipice from where condors are often seen gliding in the up draughts. Return to Arequipa around 17:00hrs.
-Day 06 Arequipa -Cusco
Transfers. Flight to Cusco, Peru’s main tourist destination and one of the most important in the Americas. Cusco city tour. Visit the Cathedral, the Inca Temple of Koricancha, and the nearby ruins: Sacsahuaymán, Qenko, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay.
Overnight
-Day 07 – Cusco - Sacred Valley
Sacred Valley tour. Just an hour’s drive from Cusco, the Urubamba Valley, or Sacred Valley of the Incas, is a setting of picturesque communities, impressive terraces and many important archaeological sites. The valley includes the area between the Inca communities of Pisac and Ollantaytambo. Return to Cusco around 17:00 hrs. Overnight.
-Day 08 Cusco - Macchu Picchu
Transfer to the train station. Train to Aguas Calientes. The Citadel of Machu Picchu is the most important tourist attraction of Cusco. One can get to this Inca construction after a three hour train ride from the city and then taking a bus up to the citadel. Overnight in Aguas Calientes.
Day 09 Macchu Picchu - Cusco
Machu Picchu tour. Discovered in 1911 by the American explorer Hiram Bingham, this citadel is considered to be one of the most extraordinary examples of landscape architecture in the world. Return to Cusco by train. Transfer to your hotel. Overnight.
-Day 10 Cusco - Puno
Train or bus to Puno. Transfer to the hotel. Puno is located on the Callao plateau on the shores of Lake Titikaka. It was founded in 1668 and is the principal port of the highest navigable lake in the world. Overnight
-Day 11 Puno
Excursion to the Uros, the floating reed islands of the indians on Lake Titikaka. The islands are constructed of the Totora reeds that grow along the lake shore.
Today visit Taquile Island. A 30 minute boat trip takes you to this island community in Lake Titicaca. Return to Puno around 17:30. Overnight
-Day 12 Puno-Lima
Transfer to the airport. Flight Juliaca-Lima or to La Paz, depending on your itinerary. Along the way you, will have the opportunity to visit the Sillustani ruins. These circular burial towers called "Chulpas," overlooking beautiful lake Umayo were built by one of the tribes who ruled the area before Inca domination. |
