The North Andex Trujillo, Chiclayo & Chachapoyas

Itinerary:

-Día 01 Trujillo
Transfer to your hotel.
Trujillo, with its year round spring-like climate, is full of tradition and aristocratic mansions. West of Trujillo is Huanchaco, a charming fishing village. As their ancestors did centuries ago, fishermen here still ride the waves in fragile reed boats called "Caballito de Totora".
One of the most beautiful cities in Peru, Trujillo was founded in 1534 by Peru's conquistador Francisco Pizarro who named it after his birthplace in Spain. This colonial and republican city, 560 km (350 miles) north of Lima flourished when numerous families of nobles settled there to exploit gold and silver mines and the large sugar plantations.
In the afternoon, visit the impressive pyramids of the Sun and the Moon, the center of power in the Trujillo valley during Moche times. Archaeologists recently uncovered a stunning set of mud-brick designs on one of the walls of the Temple of the Moon. Overnight at Trujillo Hotel
-Day02 Chah-Chan
In the morning, visit to the citadel of Chan Chan, ancient capital of the Chimu Empire (13th century) and the largest adobe city in the world. As you tour Chan Chan, you will come to know its vastness and the architectural beauty made entirely of adobe, witnessing one more of Peru's great mysteries. Then Visit to Huanchaco and the Dragon Temple. Overnight at Trujillo Hotel
-Day 03 Chiclayo - Tucume
Private transfer to Chiclayo. Upon arrival, reception, assistance and transfer to the hotel
Chiclayo, capital of the department of Lambayeque, is a bustling, commercial city, 769 km (480 miles) north of Lima, only a short distance through the sugar cane fields from the famed Moche mausoleum of Sipan. After its discovery and unearthing in 1987, Sipan's tombs have yielded a wealth of dazzling gold, silver, and copper jewelry dating back to 300 AD. Ongoing excavations are uncovering even more gold-filled tombs.
Archaeologists led by Norwegian explorer Thor Heyerdahl have uncovered remarkable mud-brick displays and fine pottery, displayed in a small museum.
Afternoon tour to Tucume, an imposing site consisting of 26 mud-brick pyramids that served as the political and religious center of the Lambayeque culture. Visit the Bruning Museum and return to hotel. Overnight in Chiclayo
-Day 04 Sipan
In the morning visit to Tumbas Reales and then excursion to the mud-brick burial platform of Huaca Rajada, where the fabulous tomb of the Lord of Sipan was discovered with gold artifacts and precious stone that have revealed a wealth of information about the mysterious Moche civilization.
