Itinerary
-Day 01
Transfer Airport- Transfer City tour in Cajamarca. Visit sites around the city such us: La Catedral, Plaza de Armas, San Francisco, Arte Religioso Museum, Criptas, Complejo Monumental Belén, Colonials hospital, Cuarto de Rescate, (Ramson Chamber); visit to this famous cell where Atahualpa was imprisoned and made an offer to Pizarro to fill it with gold and silver in exchange for his liberty. The room is about 7m (23ft) long by 6m (20ft) wide by 3m (10ft) high. Visit to Santa Apolonia hill, where we will take a flight of steps to a magnificent natural lookout point to observe the beauty and harmony of the city and valley. Overnight in Cajamarca
-Day 02
Tour to Necrópolis de Otuzco; Tombs sculptured on rocks in the higher parts of the hills surrounded by a beautiful landscape. Afterwards visit to La Hacienda Tres Molinos, Jardín de las Hortencias and Fundo Los Alpes. Make an afternoon excursion to the Former Hacienda Collpa which is now a cattle raising cooperative “El Rescate“. At milking time, cows are called by proper names. Visit to the Cuevas de Collacpuma, where we have the opportunity to enjoy “Los Baños del Inca” (Inca´s Bath) Thermal fountains 6km (4 miles) from the city. Its medicinal waters have been in use since pre-Inca times. Atahualpa was resting in the resort when the Spanish arrived. There are two importants fountains: Petrolitos and Tragadero. Return to the hotel. Overnight in Cajamarca
-Day 3
AM. Excursion to Cumbe Mayo; located at 3400m (11,155 ft) above sea-level and at 20KM (12.5 miles) south west from the city. Archeological remains and geological formations: The Aqueduct- Pre-Inca hydraulic engineering work. It consists of an open channel hewn on rock, with drawings, narrow passes, right angles and geometric combinations; The Sanctuary – Human- head- shaped rock, the mouth has been hewn to form a cavern with petroglyphs in the interior; Frailones- Stone forest of different forms, resembling human figures.
Return to Cajamarca. Overnight in Cajamarca.
