Cusco & Yucay (04days- 03nights)

Cuzco is Peru’s main tourist destination and one of the most important destinations in the Americas. Known by the Incas as the “Home of the Gods,” Cuzco became the capital of one of the largest pre-Columbian empires: the Tawantinsuyo. Its name in Quechua means “ Navel of the World”.

Itinerary

-Day 01 Cusco
Transfer to the airport. Leave to Cuzco. Arrival and transfer to the hotel. City group tour in Cusco . Guided visit to the Cathedral, The Inca Temple of Koricancha and the nearby ruins such as: Sacsahuamana, Qenqo , Puca Pucara The Red fortress and Tambomachay. Overnight in Cusco.
- Day 02
Pick up at the hotel and transfer to the train station. Backpackers train leaves from Cusco at 06:15, arriving in Aguas Calientes at 10:10.
The citadel of Machu Picchu is the most important tourist attraction of Cusco.
Today tour to Machu Picchu in group Rediscovered in 1911 by the American explorer Hiram Bingham, this citadel is considered to be one of the most extraordinary examples of landscape architecture in the world. The citadel is situated over 2,300 meters above sea level in the province of Urubamba on a remote mountain top. From the ruins, there is a magnificent view of the deep gorge of the Urubamba River, surrounded by the steep mountian sides covered in tropical jungle. After visiting the citadel of Machu Picchu, you will enjoy your lunch .The train leaves from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo. Transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Yucay.
-Day 03
Private tour to Maras Moray.
We leave early by private bus and head across the "Pampa de Anta" for the small village of Chincheros. From here we start our hike. Along the way we will enjoy spectacular views of the Vilcabamba mountain range and Salcantay Mountain, at a height of more than 20,240 feet (6,200 mts.) above sea level.
After 2 hours (from Yucay) or 3 hours (from Cusco). we will arrive in Maras, where the local villagers own the age-old salt wells built in pre-Incan times. During Inca times, the wells furnished salt to the whole empire. We continue on to the Moray Amphitheatre, once the site of an agricultural experimentation center in Inca times. We then descend to the Sacred Valley of the Incas to the village of Tarabamba where we catch the bus back to Cusco. Overnight in Cusco.
-Day 04
Pick you at your hotel and transfer to the airport.
