Fresh Water (04 Days-03 Nights) - AE19 |
The Amazon River is one of the last green lungs of the earth and one of the few places where we can spot the fresh water dolphin. According to recent studies, the Amazon River is the largest in the world, covering 2’300,000 square miles, carrying 20% of all fresh water in the world. The lodge in this program is located near the Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve and surrounded by primary rainforest where we can find amazing numbers of species of plants, birds and fish and a large variety of mammals and reptiles.
Iquitos – Fresh Water
The MUYUNA AMAZON LODGE & EXPEDITIONS is located on the Yanayacu river banks at 135 kms. (83 miles) southeast from Iquitos city, the capital of the peruvian department of Loreto, very close to the Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve. This Reserve is the biggest in Peru, encompassing 2,080,000 hectares.
The Muyuna Amazon Lodge has a capacity of 12 comfortable bungalows. Each bungalow has private bathroom, large comfortable beds, a walk-in-closet, and are hermetically protected by a mosquito net. Each bungalow has it’s own terrace with a hammock facing the river, from where it is possible to observe, with a bit of luck, dolphins. There is no electricity in the lodge and the illumination is provided by kerosene lamps.
