-Day 01
Arrival to Cajamarca City. Breakfast.
Transfer to “Baños del Inca” (Inca Baths Complex), where you can take a fresh and medicinal thermal bath in the extraordinary and healing hot waters.
Transfer to Namora District, enjoying the beauty of the landscape and learning the guidelines, rules and the farmer's way of life. We continue the trip to Sulluscocha Lagoon, where you will be welcomed by the Andean Family and get settled into your home. Here we will begin the great adventure of cultural interchange. After the lodging and first contacts, we take the “almuerzo de las 12” (noon lunch). Between the Andean people, workers and sheep breeders, lunch time is very important and it is done within a strong ritual context. The Andean men chew Cancha slowly and calmly, which combines potatoes and “rocoto” with Chochoca soup along with peeled barley (Andean culinary art). We sit in a circle around a low table, where the family shares the food with us. This is a time when the family talks about the tasks of the day, the profits, the problems and how they will to prepare for the next day. This meal will be useful to share their culture, their vision of the world, their different identity from the city, their hopes and dreams.
-Day 02
We will get up with the rooster's crow, while the Andean women prepare the typical breakfast, so abundant and healthy. This breakfast teaches us about the native customs, the origin of their food, the social behavior and their expectations in life.
Visiting San Nicolas Lagoon and the Kollor Ruins
We will walk towards the lagoon of Saint Nicholas and the Kollor Ruins, located in the Namora district. Along the way we'll visit small communities and filling ourselves with the force of the Andes, it's an unbelievable and unique experience.
Each day we will try a different food; which could include fried cuy (guinea pig), green soup, or delicious "chicharrones" with potatoes and "huacatay" cream.
After lunch we will visit more of the beautiful places in the area and take some time to enjoy the fresh, pure air, appreciating the deep blue sky and the nature in great spiritual peace.
After the dinner we will be able to participate in a mystical Ritual to honor the sacred "Apus" (hills and mountains) Andean ancestral Gods, that have never been extinguished in the souls of the Andean people despite western religious influences. In these events the Andean people adapt and combine their own sacred visions with the western religion.
