Machu
Picchu 5-STAR HOTEL
In a private mountainside refuge deep in the lush Andean cloud
forest in the heart of the Machu Picchu Historical Sanctuary lies
the intimate Inkaterra Machu Picchu. Cozy one- or two-story
whitewashed cottages constructed with local materials line the
stone pathways, giving this 85-room hotel the feel of a lovely
Andean village.
La
Cabaña
3-STAR HOTEL
The Hotel Cabaña is located close to the hot thermal springs on
the edge of Aguas Calientes and offers comfortable clean rooms.
Its quiet atmosphere and very friendly staff make it a relaxing
place to stay and a good spot to spend the night on the way to
Machu Picchu.
Presidente
3-STAR HOTEL
Orange, open and airy, the Presidente is one of the best
moderately priced hotels in Aguas Calientes. Carpeted rooms have
modern furnishings, and about half have big windows and balconies
that overlook the Río Vilcanota. The hotel is recommended in
Lonely Planet Guide (very clean, helpful, friendly and often
full), and all rooms have a private bath and 24 hour hot water.
Some of the rooms have small balconies with great views over the
river Vilcanota. Clean and friendly hotel. All rooms have private
bathroom and hot water.
-Continental 3-STAR HOTEL
This hotel is situated along the main street with the railway
tracks running through. It's about a 5 minute walk from the Plaza
along the tracks in the direction of Machu Picchu, just beyond the
last restaurants on the left. The hostal has recently been
renovated and all rooms have private bathroom. Still good value.
South American Handbook "Good beds".
Machu
Picchu Hostal
3-STAR HOTEL
"This small, four-story hostel is very popular for one reason:
location, location, location. It hugs a corner overlooking the
Plaza de Armas, the lively hub of Cuzco. If you want to be right
in the thick of things, this reasonably priced place is a decent
option, though the rooms are small and none have a view of the
plaza (a few have views looking south). Still, the rooms are clean
and pleasantly decorated, and the hostel is worth a look if you're
more concerned about convenience than space."
