The trip to the colca cañon is extremely interesting, not only by the beautiful landscape but also so that it presents/displays evidences of old the agricultural dominion of the zone by the Peruvians, great amount of platform, colonial architectonic monuments in his colorful towns, flora (variety of cactus) and fauna (auquenidos, birds, cóndores). The colca cañon has more than 100 kms of length and its deepening begins several kms after of Chivay, arriving 3.400 the deepest point at mts. The best place of observation is to 3.800 m.s.n.m. The zone of the Colca is ideal for the practice of adventure tourism.

Itinerary

-Day 01
2:00 AM Departure from Arequipa to Colca Canyon. Going up from an altitude of 2325 m to 3780 m, passing through the National Reserve of Pampa Cañahuas where the Lamas , Alpacas and Vicuñas live.
7:00 AM We arrive at Chivay where you will rest for 2 hours before starting our mountain bike ride.
10:00 AM A good breakfast and we start our tour. First we will be going to Coporaque, then we stop at Ocolle viewpoint to admire the beautiful Colca canyon. Crossing a bridge, we can see the hanging tombs on the towering walls of the canyon. We continue our tour, stopping in the town of Ichupampa to enjoy lunch. After that we ride down 5 kms to Yanque, where the transport will be waiting to take us back to Chivay.
4:00 PM We go to the hot springs of La Calera to recover and relax.
6:00 PM Dine in a folkloric restaurant where you will enjoy the typical dances of the Colca Canyon region.
8:00 PM Sleep.
-Day 02
6:00 AM Start our bus ride to Cabaconde.
8:00 AM We arrive in the charming town of Cabanaconde, with its main square and friendly inhabitants.
9:00 AM Breakfast and then we start trekking into the canyon .
1:00 PM After 3 hours walking, we arrive at the lush green "Sangalle Valley," a peaceful paradise close to the majestic Colca River. This is a nice place to relax under the shade of the trees and enjoy the beautiful pool waiting for you here.
3:00 PM We have lunch and then we will go to the river and admire the beautiful Canyon.
7:00 PM Dine, sitting around a campfire looking at the stars.
8:30 PM Overnight in rustic bungalows, which are ingeniously built with material found around the local area.
