Considered one of mountains of more difficult ascent in Peru, this snowing reaches more than 6075 msnm. It is also an inactive volcano but lava is still visible and presents small precipices and moraines.

Itinerary
|
Day 01
Pick-up at your hotel at 8:30 am in a private vehicle. We will travel to the Pampa Cañahuas Natural Reserve for viewing of llamas, alpacas, and vicuñas. We start hiking Chachani at an altitude of 4900 mts (16000 ft) and the first day we will climb for 2 hours. We will set up Camp at an altitude 5100 mts (16500 ft). Lunch is served at 3:00 pm and dinner at 6:00 pm.
Day 02
After a small breakfast, we begin our 6-hour ascent and plan to arrive at the top by 10:00 am. The view from the summit of Misti, a nearby volcano, and of the Andes is promised to be an unforgettable experience. From the peak it takes 3 hours to descend back to the campsite (1 pm) and we will return to Arequipa by 6:00 pm. |
