Son Yates generalmente pequeños con equipamiento básico. Por su tamaño los espacios a bordo son reducidos, las cabinas estrechas y con camas literas. Su velocidad de crucero es limitada y por esta razón el itinerario es también limitado. Los guías son calificados como Naturalistas I, generalmente Nativos de Galápagos con conocimientos limitados en idiomas extranjeros. La alimentación a bordo no es muy variada, en general sugerimos estos Yates a viajeros jóvenes que no dispongan de mucho dinero y que se puedan acomodar fácilmente a estos servicios. |

RED MANGROVE HOTEL
 Step
through the entrance of the Red Mangrove Inn and you will feel that you
have entered a realm of magic and imagination last seen in childhood.
Charmed with lanters of a translucent bark, the entrance walkway brings
you through a canopy of red mangroves. There, though only feet from
Puerto Ayora, its is not unlikely to see a Yellow-crowned Night Heron.
Upon entering the inn itself, you will find rooms decorated with an
artist's touch. Tastefully exposed wooden beams and pleasingly tiled
bathrooms lie within white rooms that reflect the sun as it shines in
from across the sea.
Guests typically start their day on the Inn's waterfront terrace, often
in the company of sun-basking marine iguanas, scuttling Sally Lightfoot
crabs and soaring Frigate birds. There you can watch the boats come in
and out of the harbor, take after the marine iguanas and relax in the
sun or sit back in the bubbles of their soothing Jacuzzi.
 Lunch,
dinner and afternoon tea, all of Ecuadorian and international
inspiration, are available upon request.
The Inn can accommodate up to twelve guests in five double rooms. All
rooms have ocean views, private baths and ceiling fans.

"Hostal Mainao is a brand new hostel in Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz Island
in the Galapagos archipelago.
The idea of Hostal Mainao started 10 years ago, it was actually a 6 room
home to share with my 2 daughters, Maile and Naori. What we had in mind
was to have a place for our vacation time, as time went by my daughters
grew and the house became a little too big and empty...
 We
decided to start offer hostelling for the many tourists that came to our
Island taking advantage of our local knowledge and the strategic
location of our property. We are well away from all the noise in the
port so our guests enjoy some peace and calm yet close enough to visit
town.
My experience with travellers as a tourist guide has given me knowledge
of their expectations regarding service and infrastructure, I have
applied these to my hostel. As I gained experience being the o wner-hostel
manager I started the construction of new quarters, today Hostal Mainao
has 10 rooms, we plan to have 4 blocks with a total of 16 rooms.
The style of construction is similar to quarters in Arabia or Marroque
with nice gardens and inner patios. Our small hostel is haven for guests
in search comfort and tranquility. The name Mainao is inspired in the
combination of names from my daughters MAILE & NORI.

ESTRELLA DE MAR HOTEL
The Estrella del Mar hostal is a most economic choice, it is simple and
clean. It is a 3-minute walk to the town center. The rooms have an ocean
view and balcony overlooking Academy Bay. All have private bathrooms
with hot showers.
Four of the hotel's twelve rooms face Academy Bay and receive fresh
breezes off the water through their screened-in windows. All other rooms
are cute, clean, and spacious, and have private hot showers and fan. A
few select rooms have
air-conditioning and television at the same prices, so request these
rooms if you come between February and April and need solace from the
unbearable heat. It is a friendly place near the water with a
comfortable eating area (breakfast is available for a small price), self-service
